A business cannot survive without the help and support of so many along the way, and Batten Down Builders is no exception. One of our greatest supporter’s was Junior, Andrew’s father. His guidance and wisdom helped Andrew get to where he is today. He instilled hard work and determination in all his children, “Set your mind to it and do it!”
Lobster fishing was the family business, but when Andrew opted for a different career path than his father and brothers, Junior wasn’t any less proud of Andrew or what he did. After all, he had “building in his blood”, as his father would say, telling him stories of a grandfather who was a boat builder. Junior was also a builder. Though, not his livelihood, it was a pastime he enjoyed, especially during his retirement years. You could always find Junior working on his latest project, from patio chairs, to Christmas ornaments & jewelry, to his most impressive creations, his model boats. So, it is no surprise that Andrew felt drawn and inspired to work with his hands…to build.
Junior’s surprise site visits, his interest and curiosity in the work, his Facebook likes and comments, his endless love and support…they all meant so much and will be so deeply missed!
We would also like to acknowledge our amazing crew at this time. Each and every one of them have stepped up, keeping our projects running smoothly, allowing Andrew important time with his father and family. They are invaluable, both as employees and as friends.
To our clients, thank you for your patience and understanding during this period.
And to everyone else that has reached out to offer their condolences, thank you, it means a lot. Junior was a special man to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In loving memory of Harold “Junior” Theriault
