Ten years ago, on August 5, 2016, Kinsley Alberta Ltd. was officially born. What a wild ride it has been since then.
We started with two employees, a skid steer, a used post pounder, and a lot of determination. No big office. No fleet of equipment. No investors. Just a willingness to work hard, say yes to opportunities, and do everything we could to earn the trust of our customers.
The last ten years have been anything but easy.
There have been incredible highs, but there have also been moments when I honestly wondered if we’d make it.
In late 2023, when I was diagnosed with cancer, I thought it was over. Between chemotherapy, surgery, and recovery through 2024, there were days when the future of both my family and the company felt uncertain. During that time, I learned that a business isn’t built by one person—it’s built by the people who show up every day when you can’t.
I’m forever grateful to our employees, our customers, our suppliers, our friends, and my family for carrying us through one of the toughest chapters of my life.
Along the way, we’ve celebrated milestones I never imagined back in 2016. Completing the West Calgary Ring Road DB2 project was one of those moments where I stepped back and realized just how far we’d come. More recently, launching our sign manufacturing division has opened an exciting new chapter and reminds me that we’re still growing and still willing to invest in the future.
What I’m most proud of isn’t the projects or the equipment we’ve accumulated. It’s our reputation.
Every opportunity we’ve earned has come because someone trusted our experience, our unwavering reliability, and our undeniable ability to get things done.
We were underestimated at the beginning, but we have grown to become, arguably, the leading Highway Safety Barrier Contractor in the Province.
To everyone who has been part of this journey over the last ten years—thank you. Whether you’ve worked beside us, hired us, supplied us, supported us, or simply encouraged us along the way, you’ve helped build Kinsley Alberta Ltd. into what it is today.
If I could go back in time and tell “2016 Tony” what 2026 looks like, there is now way he would believe me.
I am looking forward to seeing what exciting adventures and opportunities the next ten years hold!
