You ever notice how the best people in your life are usually the ones who give you the hardest time? 😂

The friend who never misses an opportunity to make fun of you.

The sibling who still brings up something embarrassing you did 25 years ago.

The coworker who has a nickname for you that you'd rather nobody else knew.

The person who can absolutely destroy you with one look across the room because you both know exactly what the other is thinking.

And somehow, those are the people you wouldn't trade for anything.

Because underneath all the sarcasm, the ridiculous jokes, and the constant torment...

There's something pretty special.

There's a level of comfort that doesn't need explaining.

Nobody's trying to impress anybody.

Nobody's keeping score.

You can be having the worst day imaginable, and somehow one of these idiots can have you laughing five minutes later. 😂

And when life actually gets tough?

They're usually the first ones standing beside you.

No big speech.

No dramatic announcement.

Just...

"What do you need?"

I think there's something pretty wonderful about relationships where you can laugh at each other, disagree with each other, drive each other absolutely nuts...

And never have to question whether you've got each other's backs.

Sometimes it doesn't sound like "I appreciate you."

Sometimes it sounds like...

"You're some friggin' idiot." 😂❤️

And you both know exactly what it means.

Have an awesome Sunday, everyone!

Somebody out there thinks you're pretty damn awesome. And there's a good chance you have absolutely no idea. ❤️

Seriously.

Somebody loves the way you laugh.

Somebody looks forward to seeing you walk through the door.

Somebody tells other people how good you are at what you do.

Somebody still remembers something kind you did for them years ago.

Somebody thinks you're hilarious, even if your jokes are absolutely terrible. 😂

Somebody admires the way you handle things.

And somebody, somewhere, has probably thought...

"I wish I was a little more like them."

And, while all these people are seeing something wonderful in you...

You're probably busy picking yourself apart over things nobody else even notices.

Funny bunch, aren't we? Lol

We can spot the good in almost everybody around us, but sometimes struggle like hell to see it in ourselves.

So here's your Saturday morning reminder.

You're somebody's favourite person!

You're somebody's reason to smile!

You're somebody's example of what a good person looks like!

And whether you realize it or not, you've probably made more of a difference in people's lives than you'll ever know.

Give yourself a little credit. You're a pretty darn good human being. ❤️

Now get out there and have yourself an absolutely awesome Saturday! 👊

“The other contractor is $30,000 cheaper.”Okay.Then before you decide one contractor is expensive and the other is a bar...

“The other contractor is $30,000 cheaper.”

Okay.

Then before you decide one contractor is expensive and the other is a bargain, ask one question:

Are you actually buying the same thing?

Because nobody has a secret lumberyard where 2x4s are free or an electrician they only pay $12/hour 😂

If two contractors are pricing what appears to be the same renovation and they're tens of thousands of dollars apart, that money went somewhere.

Different scope.

Different allowances.

Different materials.

Different finishes.

Things included in one quote and excluded from the other.

Or maybe one contractor simply charges more.

That's possible too.

But comparing two renovation quotes by looking at the number at the bottom is like looking at two trucks and saying:

“That one's $30,000 cheaper.”

Okay...

Are they the same truck? Of course not!

Same engine? Nope

Same trim? Nope

Same options? Nope

Same warranty? Nope

Because four wheels and a tailgate don't make them the same thing.

And “Kitchen Renovation” written across the top of two quotes doesn't make those the same thing either.

So if one quote is $70,000 and another is $100,000, don't immediately ask:

“Why is this one so expensive?”

Ask:

“Why are these two numbers so different?”

Then compare what's actually included.

Because sometimes the cheaper quote really IS the better deal.

But the worst time to discover why it was cheaper...

is when your house is already torn apart.

“Can you just pop by and give me a quote?”I’m gonna say something that might ruffle a few feathers here on this one........

“Can you just pop by and give me a quote?”

I’m gonna say something that might ruffle a few feathers here on this one..... 😂

There is no such thing as “just a quote”!!

And I think somewhere along the way, the construction industry did an absolutely TERRIBLE job explaining that.

If you call us and say,

“We’re thinking about renovating our bathroom. What does something like that usually cost?”

Perfect.

We can have that conversation for FREE.

We’ll ask some questions, talk about what you’re hoping to do, explain what similar projects typically cost, and give you a ballpark estimate.

That’s an ESTIMATE.

It answers:

👉 “Are we talking $10,000… $25,000… or $50,000 here?”

And honestly, that conversation saves EVERYONE time.

But a QUOTE?

A quote is not me pulling into your driveway, walking around for 10 minutes, scratching my chin and saying,

“Yep. $37,842.87 oughta do it.” 😂

A proper quote means figuring out what we are actually agreeing to build for you.

Measurements.

Existing conditions.

Materials.

Labour.

Subcontractors.

Electrical.

Plumbing.

Structural considerations.

Finishes.

Allowances.

Access.

Demolition.

Disposal.

And about 47 other things nobody thinks about until somebody actually has to put their name on a contract and stand behind the number.

That takes time! Sometimes A LOT of time.

It takes knowledge.

And most importantly, it creates something completely different from an estimate....

It creates a price we are prepared to commit to.

So yes.

At Bungay Renos, you can absolutely call us and talk about your project for free.

We can talk through the idea.

We can tell you whether it sounds feasible.

We can give you a realistic ballpark.

We can even tell you if your budget and your wish list probably aren't going to get along. 😂

But if you want us to come to drive out to your home, inspect the project, measure it, work through the details with you. Take all that back, do the research, the phone calls, pricing and start developing an actual quote for your specific project?

Well, that is a professional service.

Our on-site consultations start at $250.

And if you hire us?

That fee is credited back to your project.

We’re not charging you “just to give you a number.”

You’re paying for the actual time consuming work required to make that number actually mean something.

And there is a BIG difference.

Estimate = “Here’s roughly what you should expect.”

Quote = “Here’s what we can do it for.”

One is a conversation.

The other is a commitment.

And if somebody can accurately price your entire renovation project after a 10-minute walk-through with absolutely no work behind the scenes…

Well… for one, that's quite impressive!

And two... I'd probably have a few more questions. 😂

Ever look at your kitchen and think… “If it wasn’t for THIS room, I’d change almost nothing about our house”? 👀

Then don't move.

Change the room!

Take a look at this one.

This old kitchen was boxed in behind a wall and a pass-through, separated from the rest of the home and built for a completely different way of living.

So we didn't just replace the cabinets.

We changed what the kitchen was allowed to be.

Open up the wall.
Rethink the layout.
Create better storage and workspace.
Build cabinetry for the new design.
Make the kitchen feel like it actually belongs with the rest of the home.

Same house.

Completely different way to live in it.

That's the opportunity people sometimes miss when they've lived somewhere for years.

You get so used to the walls, cabinets and layout that you start seeing them as permanent.

They're not.

And if you already love your home, your property and where you live, a renovation might give you the thing you've been looking for without giving up any of it.

At Bungay Renos, we can help bring the design, layout, cabinetry and finishes together, while our team handles the renovation from demolition through completion.

So take another look at your kitchen tonight.

If you could completely rethink ONE thing about it, what would it be?

And if you're seriously considering a complete kitchen renovation, message us KITCHEN and tell us.

We'll start with a phone conversation about your ideas, timing and budget, and give you an initial ballpark before you decide whether to take the next step.

Has your bathroom been “the next project” for about 10 years? 😂

If you're planning to stay in your home, maybe it's finally time to move yours up the list.

The kids came first. The bills came first. Something else around the house always came first.

And somehow... you're still using the bathroom you said you'd replace years ago.

Here’s the thing...

Sometimes you don’t need a bigger bathroom. You just need to make better use of the one you already have.

That’s exactly what happened with this one. 👇

Same room. Completely different experience.

The old setup made way for a large tiled shower, glass enclosure, better use of the available space and a bathroom that feels nothing like the one we started with.

And maybe that's what you've been waiting for.

Not a bigger house.
Not some crazy luxury renovation.

Just a bathroom that finally works the way YOU want it to.

At Bungay Renos, we'll help you figure out what makes sense for the space, we can help bring the design and selections together, and our team handles the renovation from demolition through cleanup.

So... how long has YOUR bathroom been waiting? 👀

If you're seriously considering a complete bathroom renovation in Deer Lake, message us BATHROOM and tell us the first thing you'd change.

We'll start with a conversation about your ideas, timing and budget, and give you an initial ballpark before you decide whether to take the next step.

I wonder how many times I've seen someone for the last time... and had absolutely no idea.

Not necessarily because they died.

Life is stranger than that.

There are people who were once a huge part of my life that I haven't seen in 10, 15, 20, or more years.

And the weird part is...

I can't remember the last time I saw most of them.

There was no goodbye.

Nobody said, “Well, I guess this is it.”

We probably just finished work.

Left school.

Walked out of somebody's house.

Got in our cars.

Said, “See ya later.”

And then...

we didn't.

That's pretty wild when you think about it.

At one point, you had a last day with every childhood friend you stopped hanging around with.

A last shift with somebody you worked beside for years.

A last b**r with someone you used to see every weekend.

A last conversation with somebody whose number isn't even in your phone anymore.

And neither of you knew.

Life doesn't usually announce when a chapter ends.

It just quietly stops giving you another page.

Maybe that's why I've started looking at certain moments differently.

Not walking around thinking everything could be the last time.

That's a miserable way to live.

Almost the opposite.

Just realizing that when you're sitting around a table laughing with people you love...

when your kid asks you to come see something completely ridiculous...

when somebody drops in and stays longer than they planned...

when everyone is together and nobody is in a hurry to leave...

this is it!

This is the stuff!

Not someday.

Not when things slow down.

Not when there's more money, more time, less work or fewer problems.

Right now.

Most of the best moments of our lives probably won't feel important while they're happening.

They'll just feel like a Sunday.

Until someday...

we'd give anything to have one of them back.

Have an awesome Sunday, everyone. ❤️

You know what I've stopped being impressed by?

People who are always “busy.”

I used to wear that like a badge of honour. 😅

Busy meant things were going well.

Busy meant I was getting somewhere.

So if there was an empty spot in the calendar?

Fill it.

A free evening?

There's probably something I should be doing.

A day with nothing planned?

Well, we can't have that. 😂

But eventually you realize something...

Being busy and actually moving forward aren't the same thing.

You can spend an entire week answering calls, solving problems, running around, checking things off lists...

and still never touch the things that actually matter.

Sometimes progress is saying no.

Sometimes it's handing something to somebody else.

Sometimes it's deciding something doesn't need to be done at all.

And sometimes...

it's shutting the darn phone off and going somewhere with the people you work so hard for in the first place.

I'm still terrible at that last one sometimes. 😂

But I'm learning.

The goal was never to build a life so full that there's no room left to live it.

Work hard.

Build things you're proud of.

Chase big goals.

Just don't get so addicted to being busy that you forget why you're doing any of it.

Have an awesome Saturday, everyone. 👊
