My babies are growing.

It's that time of the year. Between the Dewalt powerpak and the generator i now have light on my tomato and pepper seedlings. Hopefully in another 10 days I can start the fire in the little greenhouse.

Winter Hibernation is over and we are getting ready for another summer of gardening. While we had a good ice bridge we moved in a couple camp shacks so we can live next to the gardens and greenhouses. That is a work in progress and we hope to move up to the garden area within the month.

The starter greenhouse is filling up. Tomatoes and peppers have been moved out of the seedling trays. Onions and the first planting of barrasica are doing well.

We have added a puppy and 2 kittens to the farm this spring.

This summer the Farmers Market strip will be open both Saturday and Sunday. Sun North will be at markets on Sundays this year. We will start with eggs and pickles and jams and then add vegetables as they are ready. Look for the yellow tent. See you all there.

It's been awhile since I've posted on here. The garden is about to explode with vegetables. We are very busy trying to keep up. Covid has kinda dried up our usually summer help because of having to isolate in order to come to the yukon and the issue of getting visas. Thankfully we have been able to get local help from time to time. Enough to keep me from feeling like I'm drowning.

Farmers market starts on Saturday, May 15th
We will be there with the usually eggs, pickles made from locally grown vegetables and jams and jelly made from locally harvested fruit and berries.

My greenhouse is overflowing so I will have a limited amount of bedding plants. This week there will be some tomatoes, herbs and a few flowers.

Come out for the first market of the year.

Finally some serious sign of spring. We are now walking the ice bridge. The plants in the starter greenhouse survived the -30 nights with the help of a propane heater to supplement the wood heat. It was close, +1° at one point. The snow has slid off most of the rooves. This afternoon I will start cleaning the large greenhouses as I'm going to have to move the cold hardy plants soon.

Friday I started the fire in the starter greenhouse and moved plants out on Saturday. They started to perk up when they got some sunshine. Today I transplanted the tomatoes and peppers.

I'm giving a update on my goats . Last week the vet was here to treat again. We don't have the results yet. They are letting the 2 positive mamas stay on isolation short term, until the end of June so that they can have their babies and I will have some time to freeze the extra milk so I have milk for the babies bottles after the mamas are gone. This concession at least gives me the babies.
