Proper measurements, fitting, sealing, insulating and finishing all require experience and attention to detail - and that’s why we believe the people doing the installation matter just as much as the product itself.

We’ve had a busy summer installing windows, doors and siding throughout HRM and beyond!

This latest project brought us to Halifax, where the original windows on this 25-year-old home were ready to be replaced.

Our team installed beautiful new windows throughout, giving the home an updated look and improved energy efficiency for the years ahead.

Welcome to Homeowner 101! We’re kicking off a new series where we answer some of the questions homeowners ask us most about their windows, doors and siding - simply and without all the technical jargon.

First up: Why do my windows fog?

The important question is actually: Where is the condensation?

Moisture on the inside surface of your window can often be related to humidity levels inside your home. But if you’re seeing moisture or fogging between the panes of glass, that can be a sign that the seal in the glass unit has failed.

The two may look similar, but they don’t necessarily mean the same thing - and fogging doesn’t automatically mean you need to replace all of your windows.

Not every home needs a dramatic transformation. Sometimes, it just needs a few updates done right.

For this project, we replaced the front door along with the upper and lower windows and completed the siding between them, giving the front of the home a clean, fresh finish.

The new 6-Panel Steel Slab Door features a 22" x 9" Low-E glass insert, a full glazed-in-frame Low-E sidelite, and a white vinyl-clad frame - a classic, practical choice that fits beautifully with the home.

FACT: Every home - and every homeowner - is different.

Not every project needs to happen all at once. Sometimes replacing a few windows is the best approach. Other times, it makes sense to update one side of the house, replace a front door, or complete the project in stages over time.
