This company is truly a family operated business with Bill and Carilyn owning the company and their children, Tara and Holly operating day to day activities. Her specialties include, but are not limited to, voicing the radio ads, running hot tub dept., ordering and pricing as well as training staff and scheduling all technical and installation calls. She also continues to be an active force on the
sales floor and provides excellent customer service. Holly makes sure all the administrative duties get taken care of including all warranty claims and procedures, HR tasks, payroll, payables/receivables and occasional sales and customer service. They have 2 company mascots, Oliver Marx and Cali Oreo that are in store daily and welcome any other furry friends to their business. Not including themselves, they have 2-3 full time sales associates on staff all year, 1 technician and 1 inventory manager. McBurney Pools & Spas loves to participate in charity and community events. They sponsor several golf tournaments for groups such as MADD, Sunshine Kids and the RCMP. They’ve raised money for NS Food Bank using “Stuff-a-Tub” promotions filling hot tubs with food donations they had placed in locations around the HRM area. They also provided a hot tub to the 2011 FIVB World Junior Beach Volleyball Championship in downtown Halifax. McBurney Pools & Spas was formed in 1980 and has been operating out of Burnside Industrial Park since 1992. They started with 1100 sq/ft. and have since moved twice to accommodate their ever expanding product lines and increasing customer base. Their location now has a 5000 sq/ft. showroom, which has 10-14 hot tubs on display and two working demos. They can accommodate up to 25 hot tubs in the warehouse with plenty of room for chemicals and accessories with around 5500 sq/ft.
