Job Posting: Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic / Field Service Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Creston, BC
Wage: $50–$60 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, certified Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. This role is primarily field-based and requires a mechanic who can work independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and provide high-quality repairs with minimal supervision.
Preference will be given to candidates with extensive service truck experience who can confidently step into a field service role and be productive from day one.
Responsibilities
-Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty equipment and trucks.
-Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled servicing.
-Repair and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brakes, drivetrains, and related components.
-Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service information.
-Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and maintenance records.
-Respond to field service calls in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
-Identify potential equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
-Communicate effectively with customers, operators, and management.
Required Qualifications
-Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification.
-Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
-diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
-Experience working independently in field service environments.
-Ability to safely lift, carry, and work around heavy equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
-Service truck experience.
-Experience with construction, forestry, mining, transportation, or agricultural equipment.
-Welding and fabrication experience.
-Class 1 or Class 3 license considered an asset.
