These are boxelder bugs, and they’re starting to show up around homes in Cranbrook right now.

Even with the snow → sun → snow weather we’ve been having, these insects become active as soon as temperatures rise, even for short periods. They come out of overwintering and gather on warm, sunny surfaces like siding and foundations.

That’s why you’ll often see them clustered like this on one side of the house. They’re drawn to heat and will stay in those areas throughout the day.

Boxelder bugs are not harmful, but they can show up in large numbers. As activity increases outside, some may eventually make their way indoors through small gaps around the home.

This is a normal part of early spring in the Cranbrook area, even if winter doesn’t feel fully over yet.

🌲🦨 Look who we stumbled across in the forest a few days ago! 🦨🌲
This little skunk was just doing its thing, exploring the woods and minding its own business.
It’s always a good reminder that we share these beautiful spaces with all kinds of wild neighbours — big, small, and yes, sometimes smelly!

No sprays were triggered, no animals (or humans!) were harmed, and no wildlife was harassed — just a peaceful passing by captured in nature. 🖤

What’s Exclusion? And Why It Matters!

At Critters B Gone, we don’t just remove wildlife and pests — we help you keep them out for good. That’s where exclusion comes in.

✅ What is it?
Exclusion means finding how critters get in — like gaps under decks, cracks in foundations, or holes under sidewalks — and sealing them up properly.

✅ Why does it work?
If you don’t block those entry points, you’ll end up with repeat visitors. Good exclusion means no more surprise skunks, raccoons, or rodents moving in under your home or walkway.

✅ Why choose us?
We do it right: safe, humane removal first — then professional repairs to protect your property long-term.

📞 Questions about exclusion? Give us a call anytime — we’re local, fully licensed & insured, and always ready to help you stay critter-free!
