A premium Cape Breton construction company offering building and renovations services. I have been working in the building industry for 10 + years.

Carpentry is my background. I worked under various master carpenters before branching out on my own. Fine carpentry, roofing, exterior/interior renovations, and insulating were some of the areas that I focused on in my solo ventures as a carpenter. More recently I have studied building science and looking at the house as a complete system. This approach allows you to understand how each individual

component of a building can effect another. Through my certification program as a Home Inspector, I studied all aspects of the home. Electrical, Plumbing, Structure, Foundations, the building site, Roofing, Asbestos awareness and much more. This program, coupled with my extensive background in the building industry, is what sets me apart as one of Cape Breton's most trusted building inspectors. A typical inspection starts outside with a detailed inspection of the lots/grounds, exterior of the home, and then the roof (and YES I get up on the roof!). Next we head indoor to the electrical systems, plumbing, heating systems, foundation and structure. Then the bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms and living spaces. Lastly, I crawl up into the attic space and look at the insulation levels/type, ventilation, and check for any unwanted leaks. All of this information is then complied into an electronic report which will be delivered to you as a PDF, in color and with LOTS of photos. (Printed copies are available if you prefer)

The Story

Scott Macleod is a born and bred Cape Bretoner, now raising his own children just a stone’s throw away from where he grew up. After gaining a diploma at Thompson Rivers University, Scott moved his family back to Cape Breton to start his entrepreneurial adventures. In 2013, Scott became certified as a Home Inspector and transitioned away from his home renovation business into full time inspections. Scott quickly became known for his quality work, honest candour and professional demeanour. ‍ After 6 years working in the property business, Scott expanded his business to include property management services. Because of their strong relationships with many of Cape Breton’s premiere Real Estate agents and a long family history in the rental management business, Scott and his team are the perfect solution for all your property management needs! ‍ Scott now lives in Coxheath with his beautiful wife Leigh-Anne and his three lovely daughters - Sadie, Indigo, and Ivey.
