A breaker that keeps tripping is a warning—not just an inconvenience.
Resetting it may restore the power, but it doesn’t correct the reason it tripped. In this case, heat damage was hidden inside the electrical panel and wasn’t visible to the homeowner.
If a breaker repeatedly trips, feels warm, makes noise or produces a burning smell, turn it off and don’t keep resetting it. Have the problem properly diagnosed by a licensed electrical contractor.
