HELP ME SAVE A PIECE OF OUR LOYALIST HERITAGE!

Some time ago, I discovered the broken gravestone of Guy Edwin Sheek (1802–1865) at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Ingleside, Ontario.

Guy was the grandson of United Empire Loyalist Lieutenant Jeremiah French.

With the help of friends, I recovered and carefully reassembled the original stone. Now, working with Brunet Monuments in Cornwall, I have a plan to permanently preserve it in a beautiful new granite memorial that will also honour his wife, Mary Grant Sheek.

As the author of The Matriarchs of the Hoople Creek Loyalists, preserving the stories and history of these early families is especially meaningful to me.

The restoration will cost $6,215, and I am asking for your help to make it happen.

Even a donation of $20 or $25 will bring us closer to saving this irreplaceable piece of our local history.
