We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Advisor to join our team for a project in Baie Verte.
This is a rotational position working 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, with camp accommodations provided.

Key Responsibilities
โข Provide consistent, full-time HSE leadership and support to project personnel on site.
โข Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company policies, project requirements, and Newfoundland and Labrador occupational health and safety legislation.
โข Support project teams in completing risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), and other safety planning activities.
โข Lead incident and near-miss investigations, complete root cause analyses, and oversee the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
โข Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, site-specific orientations, and other required safety training.
โข Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on hazard recognition, PPE requirements, safe work practices, emergency response procedures, and legislative requirements.
โข Maintain accurate HSE documentation and records, including inspections, audits, incidents, corrective actions, orientations, and training.
โข Assist with the development and implementation of emergency response plans and participate in drills to ensure site preparedness.
โข Work collaboratively with project management and site supervision to promote a strong, proactive safety culture.
โข Stay current with applicable legislation, industry standards, and HSE best practices and recommend improvements where appropriate.
โข Perform other HSE-related duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
โข Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized post-secondary institution. A related degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may also be considered.
โข 5+ years of relevant construction or industrial safety experience, preferably in an HSE advisory role.
โข Strong working knowledge of the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and applicable federal requirements.
โข Professional safety designations such as NCSO, NHSA, CRSP, CRST, CHSC, or GSC are considered a significant asset.
โข Experience conducting inspections, incident investigations, root cause analyses, risk assessments, and corrective action follow-up.
โข Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively deliver orientations, safety meetings, and training to employees and supervisors.
โข Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
โข Familiarity with construction management or HSE software used to track inspections, incidents, corrective actions, and training is an asset.
โข Valid driverโs licence and reliable transportation required.
