Thank you to everyone who joined us for our latest Spark’d Session: BL Lighting – Transforming Nightscapes! 🙌

We explored how thoughtful exterior lighting can transform architecture and outdoor environments after dark, with a closer look at the BX family, grazeLINEAR GL, and Neonview Series.

From precise architectural projection and smooth wall grazing to flexible linear accents and dynamic effects, there are countless ways to use light to shape the nighttime experience of a space.

✨ When lighting becomes part of the architecture, even the ceiling can tell a story.

The Richmond Cultural Centre Annex in Richmond, BC, transforms a 15,154 sq. ft. space into a vibrant hub for creativity, movement, and community, with lighting playing a defining role in the experience.

At the heart of the design is Axis Lighting Sculpt Forms, with more than 40 recessed triangular fixtures integrated throughout the corridor ceiling. Arranged within the T-bar system, the 3500K fixtures echo the building’s triangular floor plan and continue through the wayfinding elements and room signage, creating a visual language that carries throughout the Annex.

In the open areas and dance studios, Sculpt SoftZone Pendant Mounts combine illumination with acoustic performance. Suspended within the existing mass timber bays, the Slate, Cotton, and Concrete finishes complement the structure while helping reduce reverberation and create a more comfortable environment.

The result is lighting that does more than illuminate, it supports wayfinding, enhances acoustics, celebrates the building’s character, and reinforces its identity as a space for creativity and connection.

We’re also proud to share that the project received a 2025 IES Illumination Award of Merit, recognizing its contribution to innovative lighting design. 🏆💡

✨ Lighting with purpose, for a space built around connection.

The Indigenous Perspective Society: Centre of Excellence in Community Education (IPS) in Langford, BC, transformed a former industrial space into a welcoming environment supporting Indigenous children, families, and communities.

Mac’s II Agencies was honoured to support the project alongside AES Engineering, providing lighting design and procurement on an accelerated timeline.

Liteline LUNA provides clean, consistent illumination throughout, while SlimLED fits seamlessly into tight applications. BL Lighting flexFORM backlights wooden wall panels, creating the look of custom linear sconces. Solutions from Cooper Lighting Solutions Metalux and Above All complete the package.

A collaborative effort between manufacturers, engineers, contractors, and designers helped bring the vision to life without compromising the design intent. 💡

Tomorrow is Truth and Reconciliation Day, and we recognize the important work of IPS and the communities it serves, and we're grateful to have contributed to a space built around connection, education, and community. 🧡

A little creativity, connection, and Vancouver inspiration. 🎨✨

We recently brought together some wonderful members of our interior design community for the Granville Island Watercolour Social, an evening of good food, great conversation, and a little creative experimentation.

Hosted at Zameen Art House @ Granville Island, guests put paint to paper and captured their own take on the Vancouver skyline, while connecting with fellow designers, architects, developers, and industry professionals.

We were proud to feature BL Lighting, A-We Lighting, and OEHL Lighting throughout the evening and super excited to spend the night alongside so many incredible guests from Abode Interiors, Marcon Developments, Cutler Design Consulting, Jamie Banfield Design Inc., Ryder Architecture, HDR, Shui Architecture Design Studio, and Chansform Interiors Inc.
