After years of organizing homes, it’s never the size of the house.
It’s never the number of kids.
And it’s definitely not “being messy.”
It’s this
As a practical minimalist, I’ve learned that clutter isn’t about too many things — it’s about too many decisions, too many almost useful items, and too little margin for real life.
Here are 6 real-life signs I notice immediately when a home feels cluttered — even if it looks “clean”:
1️⃣ Every surface has a job
Counters, nightstands, dining tables — nothing is allowed to be empty. When every surface is working overtime, your brain is too.
2️⃣ Storage is full, but nothing is easy to find
Closets packed, drawers stuffed, cabinets full — yet people still say, “I know I have it somewhere.”
3️⃣ Items live where they don’t belong
Shoes in the hallway, bags on chairs, paperwork on the kitchen counter — not because people are lazy , but because there’s no clear home for things.
4️⃣ You clean, but it never feels finished
You tidy every day, but the mess comes back by evening. That’s a system problem, not a motivation problem.
5️⃣ Duplicates everywhere
Two can openers. Three tape measures. Five water bottles. Not abundance — confusion.
Practical minimalism isn’t about having less for the sake of less.
It’s about creating space for real life — for kids, work, rest, mess, joy, and calm.
That’s exactly why I created The Practical Minimalist Reset.
Inside, I walk you step-by-step through:
✔️ how to reduce clutter without overwhelm
✔️ what to let go of (and what to keep)
✔️ how to stop resetting the same spaces over and over
✔️ how to create a home that actually feels lighter — and stays that way
No extremes.
No aesthetic pressure.
Just simple, doable changes that finally make your home feel calm.
Comment “LESS” and I’ll send you my Practical Minimalist home reset.
