Some photos of us working with a tile contractor on radiant floor heating. The contractor cements in the ditra or membrane (knobby underlayment in the pic), then we route the electric in-floor heating cable. Next step is testing to ensure it is working. This is the rough-in portion, after which we have to call for a rough-in electrical inspection. When completed, the tile contractor does his/her magic. Once the tile floor is done, we return to connect the wires to the thermostat, test the system, and call for final inspection.

With the snow finally melted and the ground visible, it's the perfect time to inspect your yard for any exposed wires. Low-voltage wiring, often used for garden accent lighting, is typically buried shallow and can easily become damaged by lawnmowers or trimmers. Checking now, before the grass starts growing, can save you from unnecessary repair costs down the road.

If you spot low-voltage lighting wires poking through the ground, you can carefully add more soil to cover them or lower the cable by removing some dirt and re-burying it deeper. However, if you notice larger wires exposed, please contact us for assistance. Your safety might be at stake!

If you are planning to have some trenching or excavation done this spring, now is a great time to call for Locates (marking where gas lines, power cords or even phone lines are buried). Since it can always take some time to have the various technicians come through, it is advisable to get this done early so as not to hold up your project.
