A fence stands still. A gate moves every day for decades, hangs its full weight off a single post, and still has to meet dead center when it closes. That takes more than tools. It takes craftsmen, and this craft is in our blood.

One board warped.

Out of a few hundred on this fence, one moved more than it should have, so we drove back out and replaced it.

That's the whole call.

Pull the board, set the new one, check the line, load up.

Except the yard wasn't the yard we left. A garden ran the whole length of it. Skis hung on the fence.

None of that is ours. We set the line, and they built a summer against it. That's the part of this job we never get to plan, and it's the reason coming back never feels like a service call.

Somewhere down the line a neighbour looks over the top of it and asks the one question we're after.

This ground turns marshy every year, so we planned for it: concrete above grade, extra gravel at the base of every hole to keep water off the post and rot boards that close the gaps.

But it's the little detail that matters. Sonotubes are yellow. We painted them black to match our steel caps.

It's details like that that set a Fence UP! fence apart from your neighbour's fence.

This one's doing a different job. Behind this hoarding sits a Creemore landmark, mid-restoration after the fire that could have taken it for good.

Our job here isn't curb appeal, it's keeping the site secure while history gets rebuilt behind it.

Why does a fence company in Southwestern Ontario have access to European pool fencing?

Because somewhere along the way, we decided the local supply yard didn't get to be the limit of what we could offer. So we went looking overseas for the people who actually manufacture this stuff, and we built the kind of trust that gets us real answers, not runaround.

Eight years in, that's not an accident.

It's what happens when you spend nearly a decade learning suppliers, learning products, and learning which ones are actually worth it.

That groundwork is invisible until a job like this comes along.

Craftsmanship is a promise you make to a year you'll never see. It gets kept quietly, in the frame that was squared before a board went on, in the joinery and the lumber chosen one piece at a time.

Nobody sees it in the moment. They see it a decade later, when it's still standing true.
