A really cool project to enhance the outdoor space of this home in Heartland.

10x10 deck with a custom pergola and integrated privacy wall. A little tricky to get the pergola to integrate visually with the existing structures on the house but I'm really happy with how it came together.

We also built a 6' fortress style privacy fence to enclose the property. The ground conditions in Heartland are always tough for digging but we have the right equipment to handle pretty much anything Cochrane can throw at us.

After finishing a couple huge builds last year it was a nice change of pace to tackle this (much simpler) fence and deck project in Fireside during a warm stretch of weather this past February.

We still hit frost at about 2.5' into the ground but luckily our specialized equipment allows us to punch right through it. Regardless of ground conditions, we set our posts to proper depths ensuring the fences we install are built to last.

I am very far behind on posting all our recent projects but here is a massive stair set we added to this existing deck late last year. Thankfully we were able to integrate into the original railing to make for a seamless transition to the new stairs.

On anything of this size we use double outside stringers, enclosed risers and solid 1.5" thick full-width stair treads. The resulting stairs look amazing and are built to take a beating. The slight offset in the railings allow for clear access when turning the corner to the lower landing and make the space feel a little larger.

This deck is so enormous that it's hard to capture in photos!

Definitely a one of a kind project as the homeowner is a skilled craftsman and added a ton of decorative accents and privacy screens to this deck as we completed the different sections.

This started as a simple addition onto the builder's basic 10x10 deck and grew into this absolutely huge and totally custom full width deck with a sloped pergola and offset stairs with a landing.

The builder's deck was framed in an unconventional way which made the whole build a little more complex but we tied into it seamlessly to look like the whole project was part of the original design.

We built the deck, stairs, landing, pergola, installed the smartboard/trim on the posts and the aluminum railings on the stairs/landing. All the other decorative designs were created by the homeowner.

This is a major project that takes quite a bit of design, planning and (most importantly) experience.

We are always grateful that our clients trust us to build such significant additions onto their homes.

We tag-teamed this one with our partner company Cornerstone Piling

The customer excavated the backyard with the intention of putting in a ground level patio but we proposed a walkout deck to meet their existing grade.

The grade slope on this property would have created potential water pooling under the slab so we kept this deck off grade and fully supported by six 8' screw piles.

This backyard is finally ready to enjoy. Really happy we were able to get it in before the end of the season.

This week we finished up this 16x16 deck in the new development in Heritage Hills.

The property had been recently graded by the builder to build the yard level up quite significantly. We dropped in three 8' engineered screw piles to support this deck and ensure it's supported by solid ground. Concrete piers in recently backfilled soil always carries the risk of settlement, so we avoid it whenever possible.

A really incredible project from earlier this year.

This started out as a simple extension to the existing builder's deck on this walkout and evolved into a massive two level deck with over 500sq' of total space.

The upper deck was finished with waterproof vinyl decking and features a custom 6' glass privacy screen.

Soffit, fascia, and gutters were all professionally installed and look phenomenal.

It's a spectacular deck and it was a privilege to build it.

This client was an amazing example of kindness and decency. Sadly he passed shortly after the deck was finished but he showed incredible toughness, bravery and dignity while battling a tough fight with cancer. I'm glad he was able to enjoy one more Father's Day with his family together on this deck.

This is a family business and we always strive for the things that we build to bring joy and happiness to other families in our community.
