Another job finished up and a little celebration while enjoying equipment that is running smooth again.

We greased the zero turn this morning and she is feeling much better now.
This summer, we made the decision to take weekends off when possible. Not because there is no work to do, but because staying caught up on equipment maintenance, planning ahead, and being prepared for the next jobs matters.

A smooth machine, a finished job, and a bit of breathing room between the chaos.

We will take that as a win.

$75 for a regular size stump. Quick in, quick out, no mess left behind.

Want the spot fully finished and ready for new grass? Add chip cleanup and fresh topsoil for $50 more. We rake out the wood chips, lay down fresh soil, and leave the area ready to seed.

It has been a beautiful couple of days in the sun while lifting lockstone, prepping the base, and getting everything ready to relay the patio at the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat. ☀️🐻‍❄️

This kind of work is all about the prep. The final look matters, but what goes underneath is what determines how well it holds up over time.

We are excited to start relaying the pavers and bring a fresh, cleaned-up look back to this well-known local spot. ✨

What a week. ☀️🏃

We lost count at some point but by the end of it we had touched over 30 properties across Cochrane. Power sweeping, dethatching, aeration, fertilizing, waste removal, grading - if it needed doing this spring, we were doing it.

There's something about this time of year where every property comes out of winter looking a little rough and then a few days of work later the green starts pushing through and you remember why you put in the effort. That's the part we love.

We even had to bring the tractor out for a big commercial lot - one of those jobs that had a full winter's worth of pine cones, debris, sand and buildup sitting in it since November. The yellow dump trailer didn't get a day off this week.
And yes, a shed base got graded and prepped too. Because why not add one more thing to the list.

Customers are happy, properties are looking the way they should, and we're heading into the weekend tired in the best way possible.

We are not sharing too much just yet, but we are excited for what is ahead and can’t wait to bring everyone along as things start coming together.

We're thinking about adding a new spring service to JR Seasonal Services and want to see if there's enough local interest before we move forward.

Window Screen Cleaning. 🏠💦

Cochrane summers get dry and windy, and screens quietly collect a season's worth of dust, dirt, and pollen. Then the warm weather hits, you open your windows for the first time, and all that buildup is sitting right where your fresh air comes through. 🤧

Here's how it would work. We come to you, clean your screens on-site with proper screen cleaning equipment, and you put them back into clean windows ready for summer. All we'd need from you is the screens removed and access to water. Think of it as a once-a-year spring reset before the windows start opening.

Before we invest in the equipment and add this to our lineup, we want to know it's something people would actually book.

JR Seasonal Services is looking to add another truck to the fleet.

We are currently looking for either:

• GMC 1500 extended cab
• 2500 truck, any make
• 4x4 required

We are ready to make another investment into the business and would like to see what may be available locally before looking elsewhere.

Spring cleanup season has been in full swing.

Over the past week and a half, we have been bouncing between lawn cleanups, dethatching, edge cleanup, walkway cleanup, branch hauling, trimming, and getting properties opened back up after winter.

Some jobs are quick touch-ups. Others are full resets. Either way, this is the kind of work that makes a property feel looked after again.

The equipment has been out, the trailer has been full, and we have been putting in the hours to get as much completed as conditions allow.

We power swept this lawn earlier in the week. Then we came back with the dethatcher. Here's what we found.

That pile you're looking at? That came out after the power sweep had already been done.

Here's something a lot of people don't know: power sweeping and dethatching are not the same thing. Power sweeping picks up what's sitting on top of your lawn. Dethatching pulls out the layer of dead grass and compacted buildup that's embedded down in the turf. You can't see it, but it's there, and it's blocking air, water, nutrients and fertilizer from ever reaching your roots.

This lawn looked clean after the power sweep. It wasn't. One pass with the dethatcher changed that.

If your lawn has been swept but never dethatched; it might be time.
