You may wonder why we believe it is important to pump your septic tank at the time of your septic inspection.

Here is a situation that will help understand the why.

An inspection was completed by an inspector-NOT FROM JUST IN TIME.
The inspector relayed to the homeowner that the centre wall dividing the solid/liquid sides of their tank had collapsed. That they needed a whole new system installed because of this.

Thankfully the homeowner had a second opinion lined up. The tank was an original SINGLE CHAMBER tank and was operating just as it should. Old does not mean broken, but without pumping the tank, the inspector just assumed the wall had collapsed, when in actual fact, this tank never had one.

As a homeowner, it's imperative you understand what type of system you have and how it functions.
