Meet Jared đź‘‹ our Site Lead at Higher Ground Landscaping.

Jared has been working with us full-time since May 2024, but he’s been part of the team even longer, having spent the previous two summers working alongside us. Since then, he’s become known for his high energy, strong work ethic, and ability to keep projects moving efficiently.

Around the team, Jared is our “golden retriever”, always motivated, always talking, and always bringing good energy to the site. Along with his upbeat personality, he’s highly productive, organized, and great at planning and keeping things on track throughout a project.

Outside of work, Jared is all about the outdoors, if it involves fresh air and moving his feet, he’s in. He especially enjoys hiking, snowboarding in the winter, and soccer whenever he gets the chance. Whether he’s chasing a trail, a ball, or fresh powder, he’s usually at his best when he’s outside and staying active.

Since joining the team in September 2023, Lucas has become a huge part of keeping projects running smoothly from start to finish. With experience across all skilled aspects of landscape construction, he brings a strong eye for detail, thoughtful job planning, and excellent sequencing to every project.

Known for his calm and collected presence on site, Lucas helps create an environment where the team can work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship.

Outside of work, Lucas enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, listening to music, and finding underrated bands long before they hit anyone else’s playlists. He’s also an avid audiobook listener and somehow manages to get through an impressive number of hours each week… at a pace the rest of us can barely comprehend.

Meet Mike đź‘‹ The owner and visionary behind Higher Ground Landscaping.

Mike has always believed there’s something powerful about connecting people to nature, especially in the spaces they call home. For him, landscaping is about more than creating beautiful yards; it’s about creating places where people can rest, gather, recharge, and enjoy the outdoors.

Whether he’s building alongside the team, dreaming up new ideas, or getting his hands dirty on site, Mike feels most at home outside in the fresh air. He’s passionate about creating opportunities for his team to grow and takes pride in building a company rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and community.

Outside of work, Mike spends most of his time with his wife and five kids, staying involved in his church community, and making the most of the outdoors whenever he can. Whether it’s camping trips with the family, hiking new trails, paddling out in a canoe, or capturing moments through photography, he’s always happiest when he’s surrounded by nature and the people closest to him.
