WR Detasseling WR Detasseling Ltd. is the largest detasseling contractor in Canada. Within two years we hired our first students and detasseled 300 acres.

Every year we work hard to secure very large volume contracts so we can provide you the best opportunities in the fields. WR Detasseling began in 1984 with the company's founder and a few friends tackling 7 acres of seed corn. We grew, changed, evolved and gradually became who we are today. Our success is directly linked to the quality of detasseling that we provide our customers each summer. This is why we place high value on training, safety, good attitudes, and reward excellent performance.

We’ve sent out updates regarding the 2027 season, including our transition to direct deposit, as well as important information about how employees will access their T4s in January.

Please take a few minutes to read the email carefully so you’re aware of the changes and know what will be required moving forward.

The WR Detasseling season has officially come to an end! 🌽💚

A huge thank you to all of our hard workers for showing up, working hard and bringing positive attitudes to the fields each day. We’re so proud of everything you accomplished this summer!

And to all of the parents and guardians — thank you for the early mornings, rides to pick-up locations and for helping make sure our crews were ready to go each day. We couldn’t do it without you!
