We get asked all the time: is 1K or 2K better for cabinets? Great question — and here’s how we answer it in Windsor‑Essex! 🔧✨

Short version: it’s not just the label. It’s the whole system. We use Gemini EVO Eclipse as a 1K colour coat (the manufacturer calls it “1K simplicity, 2K performance”), then infrared‑cure it for 20 minutes. Next we add a separate Varathane Nano Defence clear wear layer and give that its own 20‑minute infrared cure. That repeatable process — prep, primer, two cured layers — is what delivers durable, furniture‑grade results! 👌

Why we do this: the infrared cure gives consistent, shop‑controlled drying; the Nano Defence clear adds a documented aluminum‑oxide wear layer; and skipping the optional 2K hardener avoids adding that extra mixing step while still standing behind our finish system.
