A Contemporary Coastal Home on PEI’s South Shore

06/30/2026

Maplewood is a contemporary waterfront home on Halifax’s south end with more than a few memorable details.

An illuminated floating staircase rises through the centre of the home. A theatre room with custom lighting offers an immersive atmosphere. Outside, a terrace and elevated decks extend from each level of the home overlooking the water, creating a front-row seat to one of Halifax’s busiest sailing routes.

Surrounded by water at the edge of Battery Point, every area at Headland House was designed to make the most of the view. Expansive glazing, natural materials, custom millwork and carefully considered proportions create a stunning family home.

A custom infinity pool, private dock and sweeping shoreline views.

This is waterfront living without compromise.

30 seconds to the beach with your morning coffee. 🌊

Offering wide views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, this home takes a timeless approach. Cedar shingles will weather gracefully through the years, while classic millwork and thoughtful details create a look that never feels dated.

The wraparound porches and screened seating areas are built for relaxing, and a separate guest house gives family and friends space to gather comfortably.

This is a home that gets a lot of things right

Joining forces with , we recently worked on a proposal for the Stratford Waterfront Pavilion, focused on creating a welcoming, adaptable space along the water.

The design features a two-building layout including a 4,000 sqft enclosed event space, a 2,000 sqft open-air pavilion which offers flexible gathering, as well as a central circulation area connecting the two buildings with walkways, seating and green space.
