Nine Yards Studio is looking for an Interior Designer to join our studio in Charlottetown.
We’re looking for a designer with a great eye, strong ideas, and the ability to turn those ideas into spaces that feel considered, interesting, and distinctly their own.
The role:
You’ll work closely with our architects and designers, but we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of interior projects and help lead them from the first idea through to the finished space.
That means developing concepts, presenting to clients, selecting materials and furniture, designing millwork, preparing drawings and specifications, coordinating with suppliers and contractors, visiting sites, and solving the inevitable things that come up along the way.
You might be a good fit if you:
-Have a degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field
-Have professional experience and a strong portfolio
-Have a strong sense of colour, material, proportion, furniture, lighting, and detail
-Can develop a clear concept and carry it through a project
-Are comfortable presenting ideas and working directly with clients
-Can produce the drawings and documentation needed to build those ideas
-Enjoy sourcing furniture, fixtures, finishes, materials, and the occasional perfect weird thing
-Know Revit, Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite;
About us
We work across architecture, interiors, furniture, installations, housing, hospitality, community spaces, and whatever else seems interesting enough to take on.
We’re a small studio by choice. People here have a lot of ownership over their work, work directly with clients, and have the opportunity to see projects from an early sketch to the finished space.
This is a full-time position based in our Charlottetown studio.
