The Branch Ranch is a secluded oceanfront cottage designed to both harness and brave the elements. Clad in cedar shingles, standing-seam metal roofing, and vibrant red barn doors reminiscent of the Island’s red clay, the natural cedar allows the structure to age gracefully while visually connecting it to the surrounding landscape. The barn doors reinforce the modern farmhouse character and close to protect the windows from harsh coastal conditions.
Our Interior Designers drew inspiration from the surrounding coastal landscape and seascape by embracing a minimalist Nordic aesthetic defined by simplicity, warmth, and natural materials. Soft white walls and warm wood finishes create a light-filled backdrop, and handcrafted details add comfort and authenticity. Terracottas and teal echo the colours of Island cliffs and ocean waters, appearing as subtle accents in hard finishes, furnishings, and decorative elements. Abundant natural light evokes a sense of calm, while organic textures and muted tones connect the interior with the surrounding maritime environment.
This carefully crafted composition merges regional building traditions with modern architectural principles, resulting in a home away from home that is both contextually rooted and distinctly contemporary.
