Feeling sticky in your own home is usually a humidity problem, not just a heat problem 👀

A lot of people notice it during PEI summers without realizing what is causing it. The air feels heavy, certain rooms feel damp, windows fog up easier, and the house never really feels comfortable even when the temperature looks fine.

That extra moisture does more than make the air feel uncomfortable over time. Too much humidity can affect wood, paint, flooring, and other parts of the home that are constantly exposed to it.

It also creates the kind of environment where mould and mildew thrive, especially in areas with poor airflow or trapped moisture.

During the summer months, indoor humidity should generally stay below 50% RH to help keep the home more comfortable and balanced.

One thing many homeowners do not realize is that your heat pump can help with that. When running in cooling mode, it is not just lowering the temperature, it is also pulling excess moisture from the air while helping keep the home cooler overall.

Mother’s Day looks different for everyone, but the care behind it is always the same 💐

At this time of year, we start to see the same thing over and over again around outdoor units.

Leaves, mud, and leftover debris collect around the base during the thaw, and most homeowners do not notice it until the system starts working harder than it should.

It does not take much to affect airflow. When that space gets tight, the unit has to push through it just to operate normally.

The part of a build that catches people off guard.

Most homeowners go into a build expecting the work itself to be the biggest challenge. What usually catches them off guard is everything happening around it.
