One of our calls the other day. Customer was experiencing burning plastic smells coming from the electrical panel in the basement. They noticed it more when they were using their car charger(more demand). Further investigating we found the smell pouring in from the conduit from the hydro meter. Emergency call to Hydro Ottawa and this is what we found. Cause: Screw was not even tight on the main feed coming in from hydro, causing arcing/heating of the insulation. Ended up installing a new 200a Hydro meter and 200a main panel.
