Sure doesn’t feel like it’s October in Alberta right now with this sunshine but we all know what’s around the corner… So when the “S” word does eventually come, just know that it’s not all bad because that’s the best time for a interior renovation! Happy 40th birthday to the best wife and mother a guy could ever dream of being able to call his own. Crap did I say the 40 part out loud!? 😂 We are so lucky to have you in our lives and without you we would be lost, no for real we’d probably still be walking in circles around West Ed trying to figure out which way we just came from! Seriously babe, I can’t wait to see what memories the next 40 years brings us and am excited to be able to create them with you! Love you to the moon and back plus 1 ❤️

(Crocodile Dundee 🐊 voice)“You call that a deck? This is a deck!” I know I definitely dated myself with a Crocodile Dundee quote but it was too perfect not to use on this huge deck we did for some great clients! Even though the deck is large we didn’t forget the details like bookending the deck boards so there’s no exposed cuts on the edges. Fun project with a great view!

Finished up a screened in gazebo for some great customers at their lot at In the last two years I’ve built them a fence and a large deck that’s custom fit for their 5th wheel. After all that work they decided that the old retaining wall needed a facelift, so I covered it in treated lumber to match everything else. I also installed a beam inside to support a custom porch swing that Jack made for Penny to swing the day away. Now they have a fantastic lot and really no reason to go home! Penny showed me some awesome wildlife pictures she took on her new camera so I thought I’d throw my hat in the ring with that last picture of the one ladybug trying to climb over the other lady bug.

Spent the last couple days framing a gazebo for a customer at their trailer lot at Silver Creek Golf Course. Just waiting on the metal to show up to finish it off. Hardest part so far of the project is watching other people golf 100 ft away.

Looking for an old quote and stumbled upon a lumber price chart I did last February. Some lumber has legit doubled in price, so ridiculous. I expect it to keep going up and up which is the worst part. Businesses and people are struggling to make ends meet at no fault of their own but all of our costs/bills are skyrocketing. I’m told the prices will come back down sometime. 🤔

Weather has been so nice lately that I squeezed in a little deck last week to finish off the front of a customer’s house. Adamson Exteriors did a great job on the siding after I did the windows and now the deck is the final piece of the puzzle. I love when people update their older homes because it’s contagious and makes the neighbour hood more appealing!

Before, middle and after! If only it was as easy as swiping a few times to have a new look bathroom! It was a fun project working with great customers that turned out exactly the way she drew it up. She literally laid all the tiles on her carpet and drew me a blueprint of where the tiles go. I could just turn my brain off and tile away!
