I would like to take a moment to thank the CBDC Restigouche for their unwavering support throughout the years. A long time ago, I made the brave decision to leave my career on the railroad as an assistant foreman, a career that took me away from my family and friends for weeks, sometimes months. The CBDC was there to help me by offering their services in finding a new career that was closer to my community and allowed me to be home every night with my family. They registered me for Job Bank, provided career counseling and interview preparation.
Years later, I reached out to them, searching for ways to go to college, and again, they were there. They helped enroll me in school and offered an unemployment plan so I wouldn't go without while attending classes. They even paid for my gas to commute to and from class.
Once I finished college, I decided to open my own business, a long-held dream of mine. And once again, the CBDC was there with all their programs and services. They gave me the knowledge, courage, and financial stability I needed to get my business off the ground.
I encourage anyone, no matter what you want to do in life, to reach out to them and see how they can help. Whether it's finding a job, going back to college, or helping small businesses thrive, the CBDC has it all. I wouldn't be where I am today without them.
