Our Proven Basement Waterproofing Process 💧🏡
Protecting your home starts below the surface — here’s how we do it right at Do-Iron Construction:

1️⃣ Careful Excavation
We excavate down to the footing with precision, exposing the full foundation wall. The wall is then thoroughly cleaned so we’re working on a solid, debris-free surface.

2️⃣ Repair & Membrane Application
Once dry, we fill any major cracks or holes using a hydraulic cement designed to stop water instantly.
After repairs, we apply a full Blueskin waterproofing membrane for a seamless, high-performance moisture barrier.

3️⃣ Dimple Wrap Installation
Next, we install Meldrain dimple wrap with filter fabric, creating an air gap between the soil and your waterproofed wall. This ensures water drains downward directly to your weeping tile system — not into your basement.

4️⃣ New Drainage System
We install brand-new perforated Big-O, tie it into your existing weeping tile, and surround it with LOTS of clean gravel to maximize flow and prevent clogging.

5️⃣ Compacted Backfill
Finally, we backfill the excavated area in lifts and compact each layer. This reduces future soil settling and ensures long-term stability around your foundation.

This week our team has been hard at work tackling a full restoration and waterproofing job — inside and out. 🛠️💧

💧 Window Well Drainage Fix 💧

At a current project, we uncovered an issue left behind by the previous homeowner. Basement windows had been installed, but no drainage was tied into the weeping system. As a result, the window wells were filling with water and putting the foundation at risk.

To correct the problem, we:
✅ Excavated down to the footing
✅ Applied a full waterproofing system to the foundation wall
✅ Installed new drainage piping tied directly into the existing weeping tile
✅ Backfilled with a significant amount of clear stone to promote proper drainage

This solution not only protects the home from future water intrusion but also ensures the basement stays dry and the foundation secure for years to come.
