ow old is your home’s plumbing system? And do you actually know what’s behind those walls? 👀

Plumbing doesn’t last forever, but that also doesn’t mean everything needs to be replaced just because it’s getting older.

In this month’s blog post, The Lifecycle of Your Plumbing System, we’re breaking down what homeowners should know as their plumbing ages, from the early years and regular maintenance to the signs that certain components may be reaching the end of their service life.

Knowing what you have now can help you plan ahead, catch problems earlier and hopefully avoid a few unwanted surprises later.

HAVE YOU HEARD? Backflow testing is now mandatory in Campbell River. 💧

If your business or property has a backflow prevention assembly, it will need to be tested annually by a certified backflow tester.

And the one in this reel? It’s an 8-inch backflow. 👀 Definitely not something we come across every day!

Big or small, our certified team is ready to help with your annual backflow testing and make sure you’re staying up to date with the requirements.

Need yours tested? Give Service Pro a call and we’ll get you booked in.

Of all the places you might find water, your gas fireplace should not be one of them. 😳

When our technician pressed the button to light the pilot, water started coming out through the burner or***ce, creating that little fountain you see in the video. Water was also coming through the pilot light because it had made its way into the gas valve.

This is a rare one, but it is a pretty good reminder that sometimes the real problem is not what you expect to find.

If something does not look right with your heating equipment, leave it to a professional to investigate. Give Service Pro a call.

The best option is the one that works for YOUR home.

There’s a lot of talk about which is better, tank or tankless, but the answer isn’t the same for everyone.

That’s why we’re big on helping homeowners understand their options instead of pushing one solution. Your household, your needs, your preferences. We’ll help you figure out what makes the most sense for you.

Thinking about replacing your hot water system? Give us a call and let’s talk options.

Bathroom reno in your future?

Another main bathroom renovation complete for the Service Pro crew, this one featuring executive level fixtures throughout and a pretty sweet matte black shower trim setup.

We love seeing all the pieces come together at the end of a renovation like this.

How do you confirm a 6 ft tub is actually 6 feet? 😂

Around here, apparently you climb in and find out. This is one of the biggest tubs we install for residential.

Just a little quality control from the Service Pro crew. Yup, 6 feet confirmed. 🛁

Not a bad view from the jobsite. 🐋

Some jobs take our crew to some pretty incredible places. This trip brought us up to Port McNeill to check out a camp, and apparently the locals decided to make an appearance.

Just another perk of working across Vancouver Island and the North Island.

Business owners, do you know how old your hot water tank is?

This little 5 gallon tank made it 20 years. 😳 It was well past its recommended age and definitely ready for retirement.

A failed hot water tank can quickly become more than a plumbing problem when you’re running a business. Checking the age and condition of your equipment now can help you avoid an unexpected interruption later.

Not sure how old yours is or whether it’s time for an inspection? Give Service Pro a call. We’re always happy to help.

Did you know there’s an anode rod inside your hot water tank?

Its job is to take the brunt of mineral and corrosion damage to help protect the tank itself. And judging by this photo, you can see just how much work they can do. 😅

Anode rods can be inspected and replaced when necessary, which can help extend the life of your hot water tank.

Curious about the condition of yours? Give us a call. We’re always happy to help.
