The client wanted a unique element to the deck to set it apart. We decided to go with the River Rock panels for the handrail. The deck itself, is constructed out of Brown Pressure Treated, so it is going to last a very long time. We increased the overall foot print & gave them a larger, more usable space. Part 2 of 3. After we spoke with the client about needing to replace the structure due to safety reasons, we started the rebuilding process. It turns out the original deck was a floating deck (not attached to the house). We decided to keep it as a floating deck. When Floating decks are built correctly, they can be solid and won't move. We also relocated the step to the left side of the deck, this allows for an increase in the usable space & the steps are in a better location. Part 1 of 3. This was a fun project to do. Here are some before & during demo photos. Our client wanted to reclad their old existing deck. We had a look at the structure & for safety reasons had to replace the entire deck. The old structure was non-pressure treated interior lumber and the joist spacing was incorrect.
