When hiring a roofer, the cheaper price isn’t always the best option. A qualified roofing contractor has overhead expenses, insurance and training that a “fly by night” roofer doesn’t have. Hiring a cheap roofer will most likely cause problems for you down the road that are expensive to repair.

Some tips on hiring a good roofing contractor:

1. Get your estimate in writing and ensure all costs are accounted for.
2. Ask for copies of their insurance and WSIB.
3. Hire local. Too may contractors come from out of town which leaves it difficult for them to return for any service repairs and warranty issues.
4. Ask for references.
