The 2026 AMH housing and installation season has officially begun!
With our biggest season yet underway, 31 of our homes will be installed across all five Kitikmeot communities. We have spent the past year preparing for this season by strengthening our partnerships with local service providers in each community, while working closely with the Hamlets and Local Housing Authorities on community preparedness.
AMH was created after years of building a small project every year or so, knowing that we needed to think bigger if we wanted to make a tangible impact on housing in Nunavut. Building modular homes year-round was the first step. Our goal for 2026 was to team up with other northern contractors to install our homes in communities across the North.
The more homes we build, the more teams we need to help us install them throughout the North.
A big shout-out to our AMH crew, who have made sure these homes are constructed with pride and precision, helping them withstand the long journey north and making installation as efficient as possible.
A big thank you to our local partners Qillaq Innovations, Jago Services, Kikiak Contracting Ltd., Dancing Bear, and CAP Enterprises Ltd. Local service providers keep our communities running and help companies like ours make projects like this a reality.
With the help of our experienced installation partners Andre Funk Construction, Oleg’s Electric, Can-Can Plumbing and Heating, Northern Industries Construction Ltd., and Black Spruce Builders Ltd., we are setting a goal of having all 31 homes installed by December 31, 2026.
