A large number of my projects involve opening up spaces. This one was unique as the roof structure consisted of from what I believe to be the 1970’s. This meant we had a bit of extra weight to handle, but a steel beam did the trick in removing the desired amount of wall while maintaining good clearance.

This project involved removing a number of walls to take three rooms and create one dream kitchen & dining space. I would have posted before photos, but the rooms were so cramped that the photos wouldn’t do it justice. We used steel beams to support the second floor in order to keep the ceiling flat.

Although this may be a pretty straightforward building at the end of the day, I still take pleasure in helping make these projects transfer from paper to something more physical.
