We built this company on the belief that safe, quality housing shouldn't be a privilege. Every project we complete puts money toward making that real for someone in this city.

Spring is here.

Before the season gets busy, it's worth taking a few minutes to think about your roof.

Calgary weather is hard on exteriors.

Freeze and thaw cycles, ice damming, heavy snow loads & chinooks... and by the time spring arrives, there's often more going on up there than you'd expect.

👀 Check your gutters from the ground.
Check for sagging eaves & debris as well as granules collecting at the base of your downspouts. Missing or curling shingles, damage along the roof edges could mean your roof may require a repair or closer inspection.

📝 Take note of any interior signs.
Water stains on ceilings, frost in the attic, or drafts around windows and doors are worth paying attention to. They don't always mean the worst, but they're worth getting looked at.

⏳ Know your limitation period.
If your home experienced hail damage last season, you typically have a window to file an insurance claim before that right expires. Don't wait until you need a repair to find out you missed it.

Getting ahead of it now means you're not scrambling when storm season arrives and every contractor in the city is fully booked.

Most homeowners don't think about their windows until something goes wrong.

But there are a few early signs worth knowing.

🪟 Fogging between the panes means the seal has failed and moisture is getting in.
🪟 Drafts around the frame usually mean the weatherstripping or caulking has broken down.
🪟Windows that are hard to open, won't stay up, or feel soft around the frame are telling you the structure is compromised.

None of these fix themselves.
And the longer they sit, the more they affect your heating bill and the wall around the window.

Spring is a good time to walk around your home and just take a look.
