A remote site doesn't have a gas station down the road.

Whatever keeps trucks and heavy equipment fueled must be built into the site itself and sized for both light-vehicle fill-ups and heavy-equipment loading.

That same system has to keep running through a Western Canadian winter, the kind of cold that stops equipment that wasn't built for it.

Chamco builds fuel distribution systems as complete modular units, pumps, valves, electrical controls, metering, all welded and hydro-tested to ASME standards, in a 40,000-square-foot ISO 9001-certified facility in Calgary.

Everything ships as a single skid or container, already pressure-tested to handle exactly that before it's ever plugged in.

Nobody thinks about fuel infrastructure until it fails.

Don’t let things get that far. Spec a system built for the conditions it's actually going into.

Conditions for rotating equipment don't get much more extreme than a coal mine in the Canadian Rockies.

That's a big part of why most mines, coal or otherwise, go with Sullair compressors and Chamco as their preferred supplier.

This job was no exception.

We only put Sullair screw compressors into our packages, built on their reliability, performance, and reputation in the field.

Every package is a self-contained building, fully fabricated, assembled, wired, and tested right here in Calgary, Alberta.

That's what gives our customers reliable air, backed by real service and technical support, for years after the unit goes into the ground.

Cold-starting a diesel engine does more damage in the first 10 seconds than in any other phase of operation it goes through.

That's true whether it's a truck sitting in a yard overnight or a portable compressor parked on a job site through a Western Canada winter.

The fix isn't complicated, but it comes down to a handful of specific things.

The right fluid, the right startup aid, and keeping lines from freezing solid before the compressor ever turns over.

Sullair put together a solid rundown of exactly what that prep looks like for portable diesel units.

It’s the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)’s Fire Prevention Week.

Most people picture smoke detectors and evacuation drills, but there's a piece of a building's fire protection that almost nobody thinks about: the pump that has to move water the second it's needed.

A fire pump that sits untested for months looks fine right up until it doesn't turn on, or turns on and can't hold pressure, or trips a breaker two minutes into a run it was never checked on.

Those are the failures nobody plans for, because they only show up under real load, in a real emergency.

We build, test, and service fire pump systems for facilities across Western Canada.

Fire Prevention Week is as good a week as any to ask when yours was last tested.

Not every job on our board is a multi-hundred-horsepower package.

Sometimes it's the right compressor, sized correctly for a smaller facility.

A small Omega compressor found a new home recently at a water treatment plant in Southern Alberta.

Omega builds reciprocating compressors across four series:
➡️Compact contractor and professional units
➡️Heavy-duty base-mounted and duplex configurations
➡️A climate control line for temperature-sensitive environments like labs and dental clinics
➡️A dedicated fire sprinkler series

That range is what makes the brand fit a job like this one.

A water treatment plant still needs dependable compressed air for things like instrumentation and valve actuation, just at a smaller scale than a full industrial plant.

It's exactly the kind of job Omega's lineup is built to cover.

In testing, one Sullair OEM air compressor filter caught particles 89% better than its non-OEM equivalent.

That’s exactly why Chamco supplies genuine OEM parts directly from Sullair and other leading manufacturers.

"Will fit" parts are everywhere, and on paper, they look like an easy way to save on maintenance costs.

Sullair put OEM and non-OEM parts head-to-head to find out where the real cost difference actually shows up.

Grain terminals don't get a quiet season, but harvest is when the pressure really shows.

Pneumatic conveying and control air systems run harder and longer through harvest, often around the clock for weeks.

A compressor or dryer has to hold up under sustained load, and a clogged filter or a tired dryer picks the worst possible time to fall behind.

We recently installed a Sullair 2000 CFM refrigerated dryer for a local grain terminal, exactly the kind of upgrade that helps maintain consistent air quality when the system can't afford downtime.

If your terminal's air system hasn't been checked since spring, now is the time to do it.

Air compressor leaks can account for around 5% of a new system's energy use.

As equipment ages, that number can climb, sometimes reaching 30% or more of what a compressor produces. It's quiet, gradual, and rarely shows up on a bill in an obvious way, so it just keeps costing more every month.

Most facilities have no idea how much compressed air they're wasting until someone actually measures it with an air audit.

Air audits measure consumption, track down leaks with ultrasonic detection, and pinpoint exactly where the system is losing capacity.

Our team recently completed two of these audits on opposite sides of the Rockies, one in Exshaw, Alberta, and another in Golden, British Columbia.

Two sites, the same result: a clearer picture of where each system was losing ground, and a plan to fix it.

Our Edmonton team is soaking up the last days of summer at the RATS-Rotating and Turbomachinery Society's annual golf tournament today, at Coloniale Golf Club.

If you’re on the course, stop by for a chat and grab a snack.

RATS is a non-profit organization created to build camaraderie and educational opportunities in the rotating equipment industry.

They work closely with charities, host industry events, and fund scholarships to support the next generation of rotating equipment experts.

Revenue from this tournament helps fund those endeavors.

As a company built on dedication and expertise, Chamco understands the importance of community-building events like these.

We’re proud to be a RATS partner.

Some fluids just aren't fair to a standard pump.

Abrasive slurries, aggressive chemicals, and sludge with too many solids wreak havoc on your system.

When fed through the wrong pump, these tough fluids cause leaks, seal failures, and a pump that stalls the moment it runs dry.

Versamatic builds air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps specifically to handle that kind of punishment, across everything from chemical transfer and waste treatment to mining and filter press operations.

➡️ No mechanical seal to fail
➡️ Leak-free by design
➡️ Keeps running even after it runs dry

Chamco is Western Canada's exclusive distributor of Versamatic pumps and components.

Talk to our pump experts about whether an AODD pump is the right fit for your application.
