🚨 Spring Roof Check: Don’t Let This Happen to You! 🚨
Winter in Alberta is no joke — snow, ice, and wind can wreak havoc up there. Case in point: this missing storm collar on a roof vent. Someone tried a quick fix with foil tape, but that’s not going to cut it when the spring rains hit.
A proper storm collar seals the pipe and keeps water, snow melt, and critters out of your attic. When it’s gone, you’re looking at potential leaks, water damage, mold, and a very expensive surprise down the road.
Spring is the BEST time to get on the roof (safely!) and inspect:
✅ Flashing & collars
✅ Vents & chimneys
✅ Shingles & seals
✅ Ice dam damage
Catch small issues now before they turn into big insurance claims.
Pro tip: If you see anything like this, call a licensed roofer ASAP — don’t DIY a temporary patch and hope for the best.
