It's officially Elm pruning season! October 1 to March 31 is the safe time to prune Elm trees in Calgary. This seasonal window is in place to prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease (DED), a deadly tree disease carried by Elm bark beetles.

We are one of the only regions remaining in North America to be DED free. Call us at 403-474-3764 to book a site visit with a Certified Arborist for a free estimate on your Elm Tree Care. Let’s keep Calgary’s Elms healthy and thriving💚

Noticing dropping yellow, orange, or brown needles on your coniferous trees this fall? It can look concerning, but it’s likely seasonal needle drop: a natural process that happens every year.

Conifer trees shed their oldest, innermost needles in autumn, especially those in shaded areas. While this occurs annually, a more noticeable drop tends to happen every 3 to 5 years. It’s how trees conserve resources and prepare for the winter. Fertilization treatments can help support healthy future growth.

If you’d like to set up a complimentary site visit with a certified arborist to discuss this, please contact us at 403-474-3764 and we will be happy to assist!

This may be the best tree planting plan we’ve seen all year 😂

Our Arborist Representative Steve’s daughter drew this masterpiece of the two of them planting a tree together, and we obviously had to share.

Between the tree, the garden hose, and the uncanny resemblance to Dad, we’d say she pretty much nailed it.

POV: your office has a really, really high ceiling.

Come for the tree work.
Stay for the mid-air acrobatics.

Our climbing crew spends a lot of time working high above the ground, where skill, teamwork, and trust are pretty important.

The backflip?

That’s just a little ✨company culture✨

When the work is high in the canopy, the right training and equipment make all the difference. 🌲

Our Arborists use specialized climbing techniques to move carefully through trees and get where they need to be.

Fall may still feel a little way off, but now is a good time to start thinking about your fall tree work.

For many trees, fall can be an ideal time for pruning. With the growing season winding down, an Arborist can assess branch structure, identify dead or damaged limbs, and recommend pruning that supports the tree’s health, appearance, and long-term structure.

We’re already booking tree work into the fall, so if you’re hoping to have pruning completed this season, it’s a good idea to plan ahead.

You can reach our office at 403-474-3764 to book an inspection and estimate with one of our Arborists.

You never quite know who you’ll run into when you spend your days working among the trees. 👀

Crew member Garret R. spotted this visitor while out and about recently — and thankfully had his camera ready!

Just one of the perks of working outdoors: some days it’s beautiful trees, some days it’s great views… and some days the local wildlife makes an appearance.

Not a bad day at the office!
