Meet Igor, one of our Edmonton operators.
We asked him a few questions about life at Inertia and outside of work.

What do you enjoy most about working at Inertia?
I really enjoy the atmosphere and the trust the managers give you. When people trust you and don’t put pressure on you, it makes you want to give your best back. For me, Inertia feels like home and I truly enjoy what I do. I learned everything at Inertia: the job itself, driving, English… basically, I learned everything here. And of course, I love the RRSP program 🤣

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about your job?
Probably how clean I keep everything 😂 I take pride in keeping my truck spotless, and people are always surprised to see such a clean hydrovac truck. I even clean the bottom of my boots before stepping into my truck!

What made you want to get into this industry?
It started as a challenge. I moved to Canada almost 7 years ago from France and worked different labour and warehouse jobs while learning English. One day, I saw Inertia’s job posting and decided to give it a shot even though I didn’t know what a hydrovac was. So, when I first saw those trucks and what they could do, I was impressed. That curiosity pushed me to learn and eventually love the industry.

What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy playing PlayStation 5 with my sons, nephews, and friends. I also like watching movies, traveling when I can, and teasing my friends 😂 Most importantly, I love praying 🙏🏼I’m Christian, and I volunteer at my church helping young people who are going through difficult times, especially because I speak both French and Portuguese.

Thanks for all your hard work, Igor! We’re lucky to have you on the team. 👏

Hey!

Did you know that the first hydrovac was actually a hydraulic shovel patented by French engineer Claude Chabert in 1818?
Chabert’s invention relied on forced water to break apart rock and earth much more quickly than manual labor could achieve.

From then to now.

Great people. Solid crews. Getting the job done together. 🤝

Something needs to be said about a company that shows up in our valley and chooses to work beside you… not against you.

That’s exactly what we found with Inertia.

Over this past year, they’ve become more than just another company on site — they feel like part of our crew. Always stepping up, always willing to jump in, always backing the job when it counts.

That kind of teamwork? It matters.
It builds better projects, stronger relationships, and a community that actually supports each other.

Not competition. Collaboration. And we’re here for it 👊

Introducing Bryan, our new Edmonton sales representative!

We asked him some questions to get to know him a bit better:
What drew you to this role and what excites you most about it?
Having been in sales previously and providing a service, it was a natural fit. What excites me most is the growth potential for Inertia being a relatively young company.

What make a company stand out from its competitors?
A company standing out from its competitors can be many things from technology to fancy equipment, but the culture is something you feel once you’re part of the team and you just know no one else does it this way.

In your opinion, what makes a great customer experience?
Great customer experience is when you do what you say you’re going to do and if you can’t you be open and transparent about it. Earning a client’s trust is the most valuable.

What is most important when building strong relationships?
The most important thing when building strong relationships is authenticity.

Fun fact about you that might surprise people:
I love hosting parties, BBQs, fires etc!

What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work. I coach youth club soccer and enjoy mountain biking and running.

Welcome to the team, Bryan!
