Here is a step-by-step guide on what to do if you suspect your gas is leaky!
Take these immediate actions to ensure your safety, with that of others around you in the event of a potential leak!
1️⃣ Recognize the signs!
Familiarize yourself with the common signs of a gas leak. These may be a strong odor similar to rotten eggs, hissing or whistling sounds near gas appliances or pipelines, dead plants or vegetation near gas lines, or unexplained physical symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, or nausea.
2️⃣ Evacuate the area!
If you suspect a gas leak, evacuate everyone from the premises immediately! Do not use electrical switches, appliances, or any sources of ignition that could potentially trigger a fire or explosion. Leave the doors and windows open to allow the gas to disperse.
3️⃣ Contact our services!
Once you're safely outside, contact us on +1 587 973 177. Provide your address, and tell everything you know happened prior to the leak!
4️⃣ Avoid open flames or sparks!
While waiting for professional assistance, refrain from using lighters, matches, ci******es, or any other sources of open flames or sparks near the suspected gas leak area. Even small sparks can lead to ignition!
5️⃣ Shut off the gas supply!
❗️Do not attempt this except you are confident in your ability to do this safely, either by training or past experience❗️
If you can, locate the gas meter or the shut-off valve on your property and turn it off. This will help stop the flow of gas and minimize the risk of further leakage.
If you are unsure of your abilities, simply wait for our professionals to arrive and handle it; they won't be long!
6️⃣ Do not attempt repairs❗️
It's crucial to leave gas leak repairs to our trained professionals! Do not try to fix the leak yourself, as it can be dangerous and may result in further damage or a more significant leak! Wait for our seasoned technician to assess and resolve the issue!
