🌿Flower Bed Refresh — Done the Right Way 🌿
This flower bed needed more than just a fresh layer of mulch. We removed the old landscape fabric and existing mulch, then added fresh, nutrient-rich soil to improve the growing environment for the plants. 🌱
One important thing we often explain to homeowners: landscape fabric does not permanently prevent w**ds. Over time, organic material, dirt, and mulch build up on top of the fabric, creating a new layer where w**d seeds can germinate. Weeds can also grow through seams, gaps, and openings around plants — and their roots can eventually become difficult to remove.
That’s why, for many flower beds, we prefer a properly prepared soil base with regular maintenance rather than relying on landscape fabric as a permanent w**d solution.
After improving the soil, we installed fresh mulch to help retain moisture, protect the soil, reduce w**d growth, and give the bed a clean, finished appearance. ✨
