This week has been highly productive for our concrete division at our Greenbriar Condominium project, pouring a tricky curved herringbone ramp along with sidewalks and curbs.

We’re selective about who joins the PECI crew, and today, we’re proud to introduce Christien Janes, our new Heavy Equipment Technician.

There’s a moment at the end of every day where the work isn’t done yet.

The machine’s tracks are packed solid with the kind of mud that doesn’t care what your plans are. And the only way forward is the same way it’s always been; you grab a shovel and you deal with it.

This Field Friday we're coming to you from our Wing Kei Village Project in Northeast Calgary, for Clark Builders.

Our crew, lead by Darren Wolski, are back on location following construction of the main building, installing weeping tile along a newly built retaining wall and grading the east side of the site, adjacent to the underground parking lot.

Wing Kei Village, envisioned as a three-phase project, will be a diverse community for seniors to age in place, even as their personal and health needs change. This ambitious project will integrate continuing care services, seniors' independent living and mixed usage buildings for professional offices, retail spaces, and market housing. The Wing Kei Village will ensure seniors stay woven into the fabric of their community, their city, their home.

Wing Kei is a not-for-profit community based organization that provides quality cultural appropriate care to the seniors. “Wing Kei” means “glorify God” in Chinese, and the organization is known for providing compassionate and loving care for seniors in a team oriented environment.

At PECI, we set a standard for safety: Every person on our crews goes home a the end of the day.

That’s not a goal. That’s not a target on a whiteboard. That’s the only outcome we’re willing to accept.

Our day doesn’t start until we’ve talked through what’s ahead: ground conditions, equipment, who’s in the trench, what can go wrong. Fifteen minutes that matter more than anything else that happens on site. This industry is unforgiving. Excavation especially.

So we don’t cut corners. We don’t rush the process. And we don’t let “we’re behind schedule” become a reason to skip a step. Ever.

Our crews are our standard. And our standard is simple, everyone goes home at the end of the day.

🦺 Zero incidents. Zero shortcuts. Zero exceptions.

The PECI Marathon Team! 🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍♂️‍➡️

A crew of dedicated PECI runners recently took on the 2026 Servus Calgary Marathon, Calgary’s longest running marathon, raising funds for charity along the way.

Together, we raised over $2,000 for STARS Air Ambulance while pushing each other to the finish line. A huge congratulations to everyone who helped coordinate, fundraise, and run.

Field Friday, BBQ edition! 🍖🔥

Our Belvedere and Starfield crews fired up the grills and brought the whole team together for some onsite barbecue. Operators, safety staff, and office crew alike were at each site to contribute. Hard work deserves a good meal, and we like to grill out around here when given the opportunity!

The early summer weather made for perfect cookout conditions… which is more than we can say for this weekend. Spring rain's rolling in, so it's goodbye dust, and hello mud.

All in a day's work at Professional.
