09/30/2025
Each year, September 30 marks the legacy of residential schools, the missing children, the families left behind and the Survivors of these institutions. Public commemoration of the painful history and ongoing impacts is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
The first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation was held in 2021 and coincides with Orange Shirt Day. All Canadians are encouraged to wear orange to honor the loss of culture, freedom, and self-esteem that many Indigenous children experienced.
This day reminds us that “Every Child Matters”. How will you mark this day?
