Today’s pour: a flatwork ramp at the front of a condo building. Broom finished.

Ramps are one of those pours that look simple and aren’t. The slope has to be consistent from top to bottom — no dips, no flat spots where water pools and freezes. And the finish matters more here than almost anywhere else on the property, because a smooth ramp in a Calgary winter is a liability.

That’s why this one got a broom finish. The texture gives grip in rain, snow, and ice, exactly where residents need it most.
