BCPM Orientation 2026 was a great way to kick off the new school year.

Academic Chair Blair Marsden spoke about construction being a people business, emphasizing the importance of human connection, communication, and the fact that these skills can be developed over time.

Dean of Construction Jim Szautner shared the three A’s to success: Attendance, Attitude, and Academics — a simple reminder to show up, bring the right mindset, and stay committed to the work.

BCPM instructors Lahiru Silva, Mohamed Nazr, and Jishnu Subedi also shared their insight and gave the incoming class a warm welcome, alongside the continued presence of Irene Quinton and Daniele Clasen within the BCPM community.

CPMSA also introduced ourselves to the new cohort and gave students a look at what’s ahead this year.

To our first-year students: welcome to SAIT and welcome to BCPM. Look out for the Lunch & Learn coming up with Chandos on Sept 24.

On a side note while we’d love to make it back-to-back, you can’t win them all. 😄 Congratulations as well to Enactus and MegaByte on receiving the 2026 President’s Student Leadership Awards for their respective clubs. Your recognition is well deserved, and we’re proud to celebrate alongside such outstanding student organizations.
