We are thrilled to announce that Phase 1 of the renovation is complete.

The overall project will include 211 rooms, multiple restaurants, commercial/retail spaces, and conference quarters totaling over 250,000 sqft. With the intent to bring the hotel back to its roots, we drew inspiration from nature and the natural elements that embody Banff, and how the hotel interacts with the community. We pulled in a deep sense of relaxation throughout the rooms with the use of earthy tones, natural materials, and quality finishes to cater to the needs of the modern traveler.

For the keen eye, the mural wall located behind the beds includes a subtle custom abstract topographical design that traces the hotel and its other properties to act as a point of interest within the rooms.

The Canmore Residence project underwent a complete interior renovation, including a new third floor addition to showcase the breathtaking mountain landscape.

SA+D designed the home with a Malibu feel in mind. The result is a modern home with a light, airy, fresh feel saturated with natural light and an almost seamless connection between the inside and the outside living spaces.

The Rutherford Cottage located in Banff, AB, has historical significance deeply rooted in its association with Alexander Cameron Rutherford, Alberta’s first Premier, making it a tangible relic of Banff’s early development.

Remarkably, this cottage has stood the test of time, virtually untouched since its construction in 1908. While cherished for its rustic cottage design, it has succumbed to disrepair over the years. Recognizing its historical value, SA+D undertook the preservation and restoration of its distinctive historical elements, all while carefully crafting an addition that seamlessly complements the original structure and meeting Net Zero standards.
