A great night out at the Vancouver Canadians Baseball game! ⚾️

Last Wednesday, some of the Ventana crew headed to Nat Bailey Stadium for the Baseball for Life game, a special community partnership supporting the Vancouver Friends for Life Society.

It was a great evening of baseball, good company, and supporting a cause that makes a difference in the community. And the night came with an unforgettable finish, with Jake Case hitting a three-run walk-off home run in the 9th inning to secure a 6-3 win for the Canadians.

Definitely a night worth cheering about! 🙌

One year since completion of the Gordon B. Shrum Building at UBC! 🎉

Over the past year, this 158,000 sq ft, five-storey facility has become a hub for students, researchers, and industry partners at the UBC School of Biomedical Engineering, supporting collaboration, innovation, and the advancement of health solutions.

Ventana was proud to provide full design-assist, pre-construction, value engineering, and construction services alongside UBC Properties Trust and Patkau Architects to help bring this purpose-built biomedical engineering facility to life.

Designed to support accessibility, collaboration, and cutting-edge research, the Gordon B. Shrum Building represents an important addition to B.C.’s growing biotech and research community.

Ventana Special Projects is working closely with our client to upgrade the Surrey Transit Center. This project involves installing new catwalk systems, crane systems, and bus hoists capable of lifting entire busses off the ground across several of the facility’s maintenance bays. This critical upgrade allows maintenance crews safer and more efficient access to the transit buses for ongoing equipment maintenance.

The work spans multiple service bays and includes everything from foundation work to integrating modern controls that make the platforms straightforward for operators to use day to day.

Throughout the project, our priority is to deliver these improvements while keeping the center fully operational. Surrey Transit Center is a busy, working facility, and we are coordinating carefully to ensure
our work proceeds without disrupting the essential transit service that depends on it running smoothly.
