Munin Viking Ship

Munin Viking Ship Fan page for our wonderful memories. Munin has been retired. The names mean Thought and Memory, respectively.

The Munin no longer sails the seas, but can be seen at the Scandinavian Centre, located at 6540 Thomas Street, Burnaby, BC. Munin is a 40 ft ½ scale replica of the 9th century Norwegian Viking ship Gokstad, and has in the past sailed from Heritage Harbour at the Vancouver Maritime Museum since it's maiden voyage in 2001. Lovingly built and maintained by the Norwegian House Society and volunteers f

or over a decade of sailing. To view construction photos please visit http://www.digitalnorseman.com and watch for upcoming events and updates at http://www.scandinaviancentre.org

Munin is named after one of the two ravens, Hugin & Munin, that sat on the shoulders of the Norse God Odin and travelled the world to bring him news.
