What happens if one of your new windows needs a warranty repair? The answer depends almost entirely on where it was made.

Most windows sold in BC are sourced from out-of-province factories. When something goes wrong, that repair timeline isn't in anyone's local hands. In our experience, homeowners often wait 8 to 12 weeks just to get a replacement part back through that same distant supply chain.

At A1 Windows, we manufacture right here in Burnaby. When something needs attention, we pull your original specs from our own facility and get to work. Most standard glass replacements are turned around in 5 to 10 business days.

There's another side to this that most people don't think about. Windows sourced from outside BC travel thousands of kilometres on railcars before they ever reach your home. That journey puts stress on the seals before installation even begins. Because our facility is local and your windows travel on our own trucks, that risk doesn't exist.

If you've been putting off replacing your windows because you're worried about the disruption — this one's for you.

The short answer is that most projects are completed in a single day. Our crew works through until the job is done, including cleanup and removal of your old windows.

For larger or more complex projects, it may take a little longer, but you'll know that upfront before anything is scheduled.

A few things that help the day run smoothly:

✔Clear the area around each window — about two feet of working space
✔Take down curtains, blinds, and any wall decorations nearby
✔Move your car from the driveway so the crew has room to set up
